Somatic Healing Arts

“Like tiny seeds with potent power to push through tough ground and become mighty trees, we hold innate reserves of unimaginable strength. We are resilient.”
― Catherine DeVrye, The Gift of Nature”

“Every now and again, someone will come along that combines a deep, intuitive understanding of the complexities of the energetic ‘world’ with a firm grasp of scientific and psychological knowledge and I believe that I have found that in Robin. Perhaps due to her own life experiences or for reasons we are not always able to grasp, she seems to have a gift that allows her to understand – either cognitively or intuitively – what is needed to allow deep healing to occur.” RM

Hi, I am Robin Afinowich!

For over 20 years I have been practicing as an Integrative Healing Specialist and High-Performance Coach dedicated to guiding motivated individuals toward ultimate alignment, resilience, and inner mastery. My work is an alchemy blending the best of science and soul, pragmatism and mysticism.

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialized emphasis in somatic interventions for trauma resolution. I am a therapist-gone coach, no longer licensed, moving beyond traditional talk therapy and diagnostic pathology. My holistic approach honors the profound connection between the mind and the body, soul and energy. I utilize a rich tapestry of evidence-based and ancient modalities, and born intuition tailored to personalized, meaningful, and lasting transformation. With a broad and diverse scope of training, I help bridge the gap between clinical mental health and spiritual and body-based traditions to support your unique healing journey.

Somatic healing shifts therapy from a purely cognitive exercise into a deeply felt experience. By processing emotions where they live—in the tissues, breath, and gut—you can break free from cyclic thought patterns. This integrated care resolves the root causes of distress, paving the way for profound, lasting psychological peace and physical vitality.

Trauma is not just a relived thought; it is an active energetic frequency trapped in the body’s field. Energy healing transcends the analytical mind, allowing individuals to release the heavy, exhausting weight of the past without needing to continuously relive the story. This gentle, non-invasive approach harmonizes your internal ecosystem, providing a deep sense of safety, emotional freedom, and spiritual renewal.

Deeply spiritual and rooted in the laws of the natural world, I view human healing through the lens of nature’s intelligence. Just as an ecosystem adapts, regenerates, and thrives after a storm, the human body and psyche possess an innate blueprint for renewal. I act as collaborative guide, helping clients tap into this organic resilience to weather life’s pressures and emerge stronger. Integrating ecotherpay and spiritual ecology creates a powerful framework that works with nature as both a healing setting and a deep living metaphor for internal restoration. While ecotherapy provides the physical, science-backed framework for healing, spiritual ecology offers the philosophical and sacred understanding required to repair our broken relationship with the Earth.

The broad practice of creative expression provides a dynamic healing modality that uses the non verbal language of art to process trauma, reduce stress, and restore psychological balance. Because trauma and deep emotional distress are often stored in areas of the brain beyond the reach of language, the visual and physical act of making art accesses and releases feelings that words cannot express.

By blending inner psychology and somatic practices with strategic coaching and soulful contemplation, I help clients overcome adversity, develop healthy habits, and master their internal landscape. Whether you are looking to heal past adaptive patterns, optimize your creative flow, build a more empowered life, or deeply regulate your nervous and energy systems, I provide the sacred, structured space to elevate your life from the inside out.

What sessions might look like:

  • Trauma-informed healing is a compassionate recovery framewok that shifts away from pathologizing behaviors or treating isolated symptoms, it recognizes that an individual’s struggles are often normal, adaptive survival responses to past severe stress or harm. This holistic approach integrates an understanding of how trauma impacts, the mind, nervous system, and body to foster sustabilable recovery. Practices involve releasing and rewiring stored stress and trauma directly from the brain and body.
  • Contemplative Talk: I provide a birds eye view of current circumstances and offer new perspectives, insights, and skills. We will examine how thoughts and emotions effect behavior, confidence, and follow through. I also hold a strong sense of accountability for instating ‘homework.’
  • Strength-Based & Solution-Focused Care: Focusing on inherent human resilience and actionable, forward-moving goals.
  • Nervous System Regulation: Utilizing movement, yoga, bioenergetics and breath to restore safety and balance.
  • Transpersonal Psychology: Exploring spiritual dimensions, higher consciousness, meditation and shamanic journey, ritual/ceremony and visualization practices.
  • Energy Modalities: Integrating the subtle body healing of Qi Gong, Reiki, Shamanic clearing, and polarity. Somatic healig is more that restoring nervous system, it is restoring the energy system.
  • Expressive & Mindful Arts: Incorporating creative art processes, mindfulness, and nature-based practices. These techniques are for anyone, do not require art skills or training are experiential and messy with purpose.
  • Herbs and Nutrition: act as a natural toolkit to optimize your biochemistry, directly improving your mood, energy, and long-term physical resilience.
